Chasing the exotic

I've never had any type of training in photography, but that never kept me from chasing my imagined exotic photos. The kind of photos I would see taken by professionals with years of training and experience combined with expensive equipment. To achieve that with no training and armed only with my iPhone, I sought to conquer the world. And conquer I did.

Perspective

In my efforts to attain those exotic photos, my iPhone screen drew my focus. My view became narrower and narrower. Any photos with people went into the trash. I didn’t take pictures of people not wanting “cheesy” photos - if you’ll pardon the pun. Along with blurred photos, too dark, too light, too similar, etc. I missed out on the big picture of my surroundings.

All aboard

Now I aim to find beauty in the imperfect and the everyday. To see the things outside of my tiny screen and bring them here.

Just as a vagabond jumping onto a train without a ticket, I do not know yet where this journey shall take me. But I look forward to wandering the globe in wonder.
